Welcome to my Web site!
My name is Natalia Irena Gust‑Bardon. I am interested in employing statistics to real‑world problems.
As a doctoral student, I conducted research at the Fraunhofer Institute for System and Innovation Research ISI in Germany and at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. My research interests were concentrated on regional development in the context of innovation processes. Having defended my thesis in 2015, I emigrated to the USA. I also had a chance to gain experience while working at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels in 2017. In 2019, I started my journey with data after graduating in statistics and data science. Since then, I have gained experience as a statistician in the insurance and medical device industries.
In this section, you have access to the statistical analyses where I use Python, SAS, or R. I present the process of building predictive models step by step. The included code and data sets allow you to run the model yourself. I enjoy playing with plotting figures (especially in Python), so from time to time you can see some nice plots included to the analysis.
If you are interested in economics and want to start learning Python, the examples in this section may be helpful to you.
I have written several papers on innovativeness and regional innovation systems. These have now been cited by researchers from over a dozen countries on five continents. Moreover, both my theses have been dedicated to those topics.
